Creating sustainable laundry solutions

A cleaner future for professional laundry

At Mimbly, we aim to positively impact the health and fate of our planet by changing unsustainable behaviours. Our current focus is set on helping businesses with larger scale laundry rooms, such as facility management and housing companies, to make these changes.

Why is it important?

  • Every time we wash synthetic textiles, thousands of microplastic fibers are released from our washing machines into the waterways and oceans. These fibers account for about 35% of primary microplastics in the world’s oceans, making them one of the predominant microplastic ocean pollutants and therefore — a very serious threat.

  • We live in an unsustainable world, where large amounts of drinkable water are used in our daily tasks. For example, one single laundry uses 60–100 litres of fresh water. Globally our water consumption is increasing, whilst fresh water is being progressively overused, mismanaged and wasted in many areas. This can affect billions of people’s lives now, and in the near future.

The Mimbox in 3 different settings: a forest, by the ocean and in a clothing warehouse.

Our first innovation, the Mimbox, is an add-on device that connects to professional laundry machines to start tackling these problems.

“The Mimbox gives a tangible result: we reduce water and electricity consumption, thus reducing cost, and avoid microplastic pollution in the process.”
